The American Psychiatric Associations (APA) Office of Accreditation and Compliance provides continuing education credit for mental health professionals (psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers and pharmacists) through the Division of Education's vast educational portfolio. The Project Manager, Accreditation and Compliance will report to the Director, Accreditation and Compliance and is responsible for managing the Joint Provider Program to ensure activities meet the appropriate ACCME/Joint Accreditation standards. Other primary responsibilities for this position include coordinating with the Division of Education Business Units: Online Learning, Membership, and Marketing and Communications on CE related tasks, working with the associated planning committees, adherence to production timelines, and assisting with various departmental tasks as assigned. The Project Manager is also responsible for supporting the Director of Accreditation and Compliance with developing, administering, and implementing administrative procedures and operational methods for the efficient review of CE activity proposals and ensuring that accreditation requirements are met by internal and external stakeholders. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the Joint Provider Program and serve as the primary point of contact for over 75 APA District Branches, APA affiliate organizations, and external organizations that participate in the program.
  • Conduct CE Management System (CEMS) training for new and existing District Branches (DBs), APA affiliates organizations and external organizations to ensure understanding of the CEMS process for submission.
  • Review and process CEMS applications and supporting documentation according to Joint Accreditation (ACCME, ACPE, and ANCC, CESA and ACE) standards within a designated timeframe.
  • Review all planner and presenter's financial disclosures for any conflicts of interest.
  • Coordinate with the primary contacts for DBs and external organizations on the status and/or requested documentation for their applications.
  • Coordinate with LMS team on the development of DB's courses and invitation codes.
  • Follow up with Joint Providers for activity close out items and invoices as needed.
  • Generate and send survey evaluations to DB 60 days after the end of their activity.
  • Develop resources for Joint Providers to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Use project management approaches to create and track detailed work plans and timelines which identify and sequence the activities needed to successfully implement the review and approval of direct and joint sponsorship activity proposals.
  • Evaluate organizations that participate in the Joint Provider Program and develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as co-liaison for Office of Scientific Programs (OSP) APA Annual Meeting (AM) and Mental Health Services Conference (MHSC).
    • Work with OSP staff, planning committees, and faculty to complete activity proposals for OSP educational sessions and coordinate the collection of supporting documentation.
    • Assist with managing the evaluation process for the AM and MHSC.
    • Coordinate with OSP staff on the development of the online evaluations.
    • Travel to AM and MHSC and manage logistics of the computerized evaluation center on-site.
    • Assemble information from all sources to create the annual evaluation reports.
    • Support Office of Accreditation and Compliance in maintaining Joint Accreditation compliance.
      • Be competent in all aspects of the Standards for Integrity and Independence and the Criteria for Accreditation for Interprofessional Joint Accreditation.
      • Maintain all files on the activities in accordance with ACCME/Joint Accreditation requirements.
      • Prepare final JA-PARS activity report data for Joint Providers to include number of activities, type of activities, designated credit, member vs. non-member, and physicians vs. non-physicians.
      • Provide organizational support to staff within the Office of Accreditation and Compliance including drafting and reviewing documentation, summarizing data, organizing internal and external meetings.
      • Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
        • Bachelors' Degree in relevant discipline and a minimum of four years related work experience in associations.
        • Project Management certification and a minimum of two years related work experience. Work experience to include planning and executing projects, assisting with multiple complex projects, strong project management skills with attention to detail.
        • Experience with educational and/or mental health programs is preferred.
        • Experience with project management, event management, and/or abstract management software is preferred.
        • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team member and excellent organizational communication skills.
        • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite. EOE, including disability/vets Salary - $57,800 - $67,400
