Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW The Director of Education leads the strategy and delivery of PQA's educational activities, which bring the health care industry together to develop, learn about and share best practices for medication use quality strategies, quality measures, related tools and supporting research. PQA's education programs are delivered through in-person meetings, webinars, continuing education programs, workshops and forums. The director is highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, knowledgeable about medication quality and related health care topics, and able to develop timely, relevant events for quality-focused health care professionals. This position also directs PQA's student and professional programs, including advanced pharmacy practice experience rotations, internships and fellowships. This includes recruitment and selection, program design and implementation, and supervision of fellows, students and interns. A key member of PQA's Education, Engagement, and Convening (EEC) team, the director partners with internal colleagues and external stakeholders on event design, operations, sponsorship, promotion and marketing. The director is an entrepreneurial leader, who encourages program innovation across PQA, identifies new event opportunities aligned with PQA's mission and strategic plan, builds partnerships and delivers financially sustainable programs. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and help achieve PQA's education vision, aligned with PQA's mission and strategic plan.
  • Lead development and implementation of PQA educational programming in coordination with PQA staff, member volunteers and external partners, including peer organizations and education accreditors.
  • Identify, prioritize and lead the selection of topics, speakers and partners critical for delivering timely and relevant programs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships and partnerships with internal and external education stakeholders.
  • Understand and proactively address the professional education needs of diverse health care audiences interested in medication use quality.
  • Manage speakers and event and education platforms in collaboration with PQA staff and partners.
  • Inform the marketing and communication of PQA education offerings.
  • Evaluate PQA's education strategies and programs to optimize relevance, participation and financial sustainability.
  • Serve as program director and primary supervisor for Executive Fellows, Summer Executive Interns and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience students.
  • Manage education staff, the PQA Education Advisory Council, volunteers and vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
    • A minimum of 4-5 years of full-time related experience in professional education.
    • Bachelor's degree required. A degree in a healthcare-related field is a plus.
    • Association management experience preferred and health care association experience is a plus.
    • Working and current knowledge of the healthcare industry, stakeholders, future trends and continuing education requirements focused on medication use quality.
    • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Experience utilizing adult learning principles in educational program development.
    • Ability to forge strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
    • Proven ability to effectively manage and lead multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
    • Ability to identify high-priority educational topics and determine the most appropriate way to deliver timely, relevant programs.
    • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Experience mentoring students and early career professionals.
    • Experienced working with groups and teams within a membership association or organization and membership, marketing, meeting planning and communications.
    • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.       • Provide on-site support to deliver two national meetings annually, including but not limited to, overseeing the educational program and speaker management.
